TV Inspection

A TV inspection records pipe attributes and inspection observations collected using a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system. A video camera on wheels is inserted into a pipe and remotely controlled to film the pipe as it runs the length of it, unless it is blocked by an obstruction. In this case, the crew may film the rest of the pipe by filming from the other end. The film is used to identify joint locations, drops in joint connections, and defects in the pipe, such as cracks, obstructions, etc.

Information can be recorded at the office or in the field. This information can also be imported into the database using the CCTV add-on application, CCTV Interface for PACP. When utilizing CCTV Interface for PACP, the condition values are calculated during the import phase. The formula used is determined in Designer under PreferencesInspectionUse CCTV Codes. Cityworks then uses the PACP grading system, but only when the observations are imported from the PACP data exchange database. See the CCTV Interface 2.2 Guide on MyCityworks for more information.

The TV inspection form takes advantage of the geometric network or connectivity information in the database to load connecting node (manhole) information. A TV inspection may follow a smoke or dye test inspection that has identified a leak in the system.
