1. Open the map.
2. Use the Legend tool to set map layers as selectable. See Legend for more information.
3. Select assets on the map.
4. Use the Results panel to refine the selection if needed.
5. Click Flag highlighted assets for work management.

IMPORTANT: If you do not click Flag highlighted assets for work management, you cannot attach the asset to the work order unless you have selected Auto Save Selection.

6. Click the Work Order tab on the main toolbar.
7. Select New.

8. Select the work order template in the Select Template panel.
9. Use the Create a work order for drop-down list on the Selected Assets panel to select how many work orders you want to create. Select ALL selected entities to create one work order for all of the assets selected on the map. Select EACH selected entity to create an individual work order for each asset selected on the map.

NOTE: By default, all the assets are selected in the Selected Assets panel. Clear the check box next to any assets that you do not want to attach to the work order.

10. Enter information in the General panel.

NOTE: Some fields may automatically populate if your administrator has set it up to do so.

11. Click Create.

Once the service request has been investigated, if it is determined that further work is needed a work order can be created to track that work. Service request comments are copied to the work order. If the administrator has enabled the Create From Request Legacy Comment Format preference in Designer, the service request comments are copied into a single comment on the work order. If the preference is not enabled, each service request comment is copied to the work order individually.

1. Open a service request.
2. Navigate to the Related Work Activities panel.

If there are work order templates associated to the service request template, various work order fields are shown. If there are not any work order templates associated to this service request template, no work order fields are shown.

3. If there are work order fields shown, populate the desired fields (WO Template, Submit To, Priority, Projected Start Date, and Supervisor).

NOTE: If you do not select a Priority, the new work order is given the same priority as the service request it is created from.

Group assets? is selected by default. If it is left selected, one work order is created for all the assets selected on the map. If not selected, a work order is created for each asset selected on the map.

NOTE: The Group assets? check box is only applicable if the service request template has work order templates associated to it in Designer and one of those work order templates is selected in the WO Template drop-down list.

4. Click Create in the Related Work Activities panel under the Work Orders section.

The new work order is shown in the Related Work Activities panel on the service request. Click the Id to view the work order.

NOTE: The work order comments includes a comment explaining that the work order was created from a service request and the service request shows in the Related Work Activities panel on the work order.

PREREQUISITES: The custom inspection cannot have any work orders associated to it.

1. Open the inspection.
2. Click Details.
3. Select the work order template from the Create Work Order drop-down list.

NOTE: The templates available are based on the asset type used in the inspection.

4. Click Create.

NOTE: Multiple work orders can be created through one inspection.

Work orders can be created from a GIS saved search in the inbox.

1. Open the inbox.

2. Select an asset from a GIS search and click Select.

NOTE: If a non-spatial related object is selected in the inbox, only that asset is shown on the new work order page. Once the work order is created, the parent feature is included in the Assets panel if it can be found.

3. Open the work order create page.

The asset selected in the inbox appears in the Selected Assets panel.

4. Enter information in the General panel and click Create.

1. Search for an inspection.
2. Select an inspection from the search results.
3. Click Data > Create WO.

5. Click Create.

2. From the search results, select the desired assets.
3. Click Data > Create WO.

NOTE: Work orders can also be created from relationships.

3. Click the flag icon next to the desired assets. The flag turns blue.
4. Click Create Work Order.
