Update a Plugin

If you have a previous version of a plugin installed, you can update the plugin by removing it and installing the new one.

IMPORTANT: When you remove a plugin and install a newer version, any employees associated to the plugin or historic data associated with the previous version is remembered by Cityworks when the new plugin is installed.

NOTE: Plugins can also be updated in Designer. See Update a Plugin in the Designer for 15.8 Guide for more information.

  1. Download the latest version of the plugin and navigate to Admin.
  2. From the home page, click Admin and click Plugins.

The Plugins panel lists all existing plugins.

  1. Click Remove on the right side of the plugin to remove the old version.
  2. Extract the .cwplugin file from the zipped folder and either click the box at the bottom of the panel to browse to the file or drag a file and drop it where it says Drag a plugin file here (or click) to upload.

IMPORTANT: All plugin files must be extracted from the zipped folders before they can be added. Extract the file by right-clicking the zipped file and selecting Extract All.
