Update a Plugin
If you have a previous version of a plugin installed, you can update the plugin by removing it and installing the new one.
IMPORTANT: When you remove a plugin and install a newer version, any employees associated to the plugin or historic data associated with the previous version is remembered by Cityworks when the new plugin is installed.
NOTE: Plugins can also be updated in Designer. See
- Download the latest version of the plugin and navigate to Admin.
- From the home page, click Admin and click Plugins.
The Plugins panel lists all existing plugins.
- Click Remove on the right side of the plugin to remove the old version.
- Extract the .cwplugin file from the zipped folder and either click the box at the bottom of the panel to browse to the file or drag a file and drop it where it says Drag a plugin file here (or click) to upload.
IMPORTANT: All plugin files must be extracted from the zipped folders before they can be added. Extract the file by right-clicking the zipped file and selecting Extract All.
