Test the Message Queue Service

You can test if your message queue service is set up correctly before triggering webhooks. This inserts a test object patterned after the event configured to test if the message queue service is processing the event data, but it does not actually test to see if the event is set up correctly.

PREREQUISITES: A webhook must be fully configured to test the message queue service. See Add or Edit an Action Template and Add or Edit an Action Event for more information.

1. From the home page, click Configure and click Action Manager.
2. Click the Action Events tab and select Webhook as the Action.
3. Select an existing event from the list.

4. Click Test on the Event Details panel.

This sends a test event into the database to determine if the message queue service is set up correctly.

NOTE: If the message queue Status does not change, this means that the service is not connected to Cityworks.
