Equipment Fields

NOTE: Some fields have visible character max limits. The first number is the current count of how many characters have been used. The second number is the max characters allowed in the field.

The following fields display on the Equipment Details tab:

  • Category: The category for the equipment, if applicable. The contents of this drop-down list are populated under Preferences > Custom Codes > AEQUIPCAT. See Configure Custom Codes Preferences for more information.
  • Equipment Id: A unique number used to identify the equipment. This is the Code defined for the equipment and is what users see if the Equipment Tree Text Display preference is set to Code, or Code~Description. See Configure Text Display in Cityworks in the Designer Office Companion 23 Guide to set this preference for your login, or Configure General Preferences in the Designer Office Companion 23 Guide to set this preference for the domain.
  • Model: The model of the equipment.
  • Manufacturer: The manufacturer of the equipment.
  • Description: This is the Description defined for the equipment and is what users see if the Equipment Tree Text Display preference is set to Description, or Code~Description.   • Warranty Date: Enter the date that the warranty expires, if applicable. Double-click in the field to enter the current date and time, or click the calendar icon to select a date and time.
  • Is Active: Select if this equipment is currently being used. Clear this check box to make the equipment unavailable to users, but still maintain historical data associated with it. If any equipment is inactivated, it appears grayed out in the list of equipment.
  • For Check In/Out Only: This is under development.
  • Unit Cost: There are two options for assigning a cost to the equipment:
  • Hourly: Enter the cost per hour in the Unit Cost field and select Hourly.
  • Fixed: Enter the fixed cost in the Unit Cost field and select Fixed.
