Universal Custom Fields

Universal Custom Fields (UCFs) allow domain administrators to apply custom fields to custom inspections, service requests, work orders, contracts, and customer calls regardless of the template type—they are universally applied. UCFs are mapped to generic text, number, and date fields (Text1, Text2, Num1, Num2, Date1, Date2, etc.) in their respective tables (CONTRACT, CUSTOMERCALL, INSPECTION, REQUEST, WORKORDER, PROJECT, and STVINSPECTION).

Universal Custom Fields can be exposed on standard TV inspections. This is so custom CCTV integrations can display on specifically mapped data on the TV inspection form and to prevent that data from being overwritten with blank data if the inspection is resaved from the Cityworks UI.

Universal custom field parameters can be added to a query for service requests, work orders, inspections, and contracts. If you use the Advanced Query option, make sure to use the original name of the universal custom field and not the Field Alias. See Add a Query in the Respond 5.1 Guide for more information.
