Task Fields
NOTE: Some fields have visible character max limits. The first number is the current count of how many characters have been used. The second number is the max characters allowed in the field.
The following fields display on the Details panel of a task template:
- Name: If desired, you can change the Name of the task. This is the Code defined for the task template and is what users see if the Task Tree Text Display preference is set to Code, or Code~Description. See Configure Text Display in Cityworks in the Designer Office Companion 23 Guide to set this preference for your login, or Configure General Preferences in the Designer Office Companion 23 Guide to set this preference for the domain.
- Description: This is the Description defined for the task template and is what users see if the Task Tree Text Display preference is set to Code, or Code~Description. See Configure Text Display in Cityworks in the Designer Office Companion 23 Guide to set this preference for your login, or Configure General Preferences in the Designer Office Companion 23 Guide to set this preference for the domain.
- Assigned To: If a particular employee is always assigned this task, select the employee from the drop-down list.
- Shop: If a particular Shop is always assigned to this task, select it from the drop-down list.
- Is Active: If the task is no longer used, clear the Is Active check box. This allows you to deactivate the task so it cannot be added to a work order, but it can still be used as a search parameter and is still listed with historical data. If any template is inactivated, they appear grayed out in the list of task templates.
- Days to Complete: Enter the estimated number of Days to Complete to complete this task.
- Response Label: Enter a new name for the Response field that appears on a work order when tasks are added/edited. The field is populated with the list of Response Codes added to a task template which allows a user to select the appropriate response for the task. For example, this allows you to track specific things like the number of square feet landscaped, the number of linear feet plowed, the number of cubic yards of material, etc. The Response Label could be Sq Ft Landscaped or Linear Feet Plowed to correspond with the desired Response Codes. If the Response Label is left blank, the default label Response is used.
- Comments: Enter any Comments to be included with this task.
