Configure Printing for Service Requests

Users can print service requests, if desired, using either a Crystal Reports or Microsoft Word print template.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Print templates must be added to the respective PrintCrystal or PrintDocx folder under ...\intepub\wwwroot\<site_alias>\WebSite. For a list of out-of-the-box templates, see Crystal and Word Email and Print Templates.
  1. From the General tab, click Preferences, or click Preferences from the home page.
  2. On the General tab, select the Print Output Type preference, either Docx or Crystal depending on which print templates you are using.

NOTE: See Utilize Crystal Reports for Print Templates and Word Templates for Email Notifications and Vice-Versa on MyCityworks for more information.

  1. Click the Service Request tab to view and add print templates that can be assigned to a service request.
  2. Click Add to add new Print Templates.
  3. Enter the Code and Description for the print template. The Code must be the actual file name of the template, minus the extension. The print template must be stored in the appropriate print folder.
  4. Select Is Active if you want this template to be available for use. Clear the Active check box to make the template inactive, but maintain historical data associated with it.
  5. Click Add.
  1. To associate a print template to a service request template, click Templates from the Service Requests tab, or Service Request Templates from the home page.
  2. Select a service request template from the Templates panel.
  3. In the General tab, populate the Print Template field by selecting a print template from the drop-down list.
  4. To print a map with the service request, select the service to use from the Map Services - Printing drop-down list.

Now a service request may be printed.

NOTE: Designer automatically saves the changes you make. A notification will appear in the top-right corner of the window that says Data Saved when you make changes to the page.
