Configure Asset Readings
Work orders can be generated by asset readings rather than just relying on the time interval configured on cyclical work orders. There are two types of readings: Threshold or Interval. Threshold readings are configured for fluctuating values that should fall within a certain range, such as temperature. If the reading exceeds the threshold or falls below the threshold, a work order will be generated. Interval readings are configured for values that constantly increase, such as mileage. For example, every 5,000 miles an oil change will be needed for a vehicle. Once the interval is exceeded, a work order will be generated.
Readings can be obtained for individual assets and linked to work order templates to automatically generate a work order when the defined intervals, milestones, or thresholds are exceeded. For example, vehicle maintenance can be set up if vehicles are defined as features or related objects tied to a shop location or building. Readings may be used for maintenance work or emergency situations, such as when a temperature or pressure reading exceeds a certain threshold. Once configured, users can enter readings from work orders or inspections.
