Reassign Asset Types

Starting in 15.6, the Reassign Asset Types page was retired. Now asset types can be reassigned in Asset Groups. This is a global change to the asset definition. When changing the asset type, the following tables are updated:

PREREQUISITES:

Asset Groups must be configured under GIS > Asset Groups. See Configure Assets for more information.

From either the home page or GIS tab, click Asset Groups.

In the Asset Configuration panel, expand an asset group and select the desired asset type you'd like to reassign.

In the Asset Field Configuration panel click Edit next to the Asset Type field.

Enter the New Asset Type name and click Save.

NOTE: If the new asset type will be associated to an SOE, enter the value that matches the SOE configuration or it won't be able to find it in the SOE.

The work history is updated by default. The following tables are updated:

NOTE: To expose the Update Work History check box, make a copy of the DesignerAssetGroup.xml file and change the field to be visible.

If you need to change the data source for the asset type, complete the following:

Once the asset type is changed, click Services from the GIS tab.
Click Service Layers and change the Service, Layer, and/or SOE Service for the asset type.
