Add Designer to the Site Menu

If you are upgrading from Cityworks 2013 or earlier, you will need to add Designer to the site menu.

  1. Navigate to http://<host>/<site_name>/Designer/SiteMenu.aspx.
  2. Select either Root or the menu item that you want to add Designer to and click Add.

  1. Enter a Label and select Designer from the Page drop-down list.
  2. Click Add.

  1. Select Designer (or whatever you chose to name it) in the Menu panel, then add Authorized Roles in the Menu Item Details panel.

  1. Click Refresh Menu at the bottom of the Menu panel.

Designer will now appear in your site menu. See Site Menu in the Designer for 15.8 Guide for more information.

NOTE: If you use PLL, note that the URL for the PLL Admin page has changed as of Cityworks 2014. The URL should now end with AdminHome.aspx instead of AdminPage.aspx. To change the URL, select the PLL Admin page in the Site Design panel and click Edit. Then modify the URL in the URL field and click Save.

Important notes regarding the site menu:

  • When adding new tabs to the site, be sure to set permissions against it for all applicable security groups. Also, never set permissions on the Root.
  • When a user logs in, the default view is the first tab listed in the Menu panel in Designer. For this reason, it is recommended that the first tab be a page that all users have access to, such as the inbox.
