Remove a Case Template

PREREQUISITES:

  • The Business Case security function and its associated sub-functions must be selected for the security role you belong to. See Security Roles for more information.

IMPORTANT: While it is possible to delete a case template, we strongly discourage you from doing so. Deleting a case template will cause errors in any cases based on that template.

If no cases have been created based on a template, for example if the template was configured incorrectly, you can delete it by following these steps:

  1. Click Template Setup on the PLL Admin menu panel and select Case Templates.

  1. On the Case Templates panel, select the check box next to the case template you wish to delete, then click Delete record at the top of the panel.

NOTE: Search or filter the records on this panel to quickly find the one(s) you want. See Search and Filter Records for more information.

  1. When the dialogue box opens and asks if you are sure you want to delete the selected item, click OK.

If one or more cases have already been created using the template in question, complete the following steps to mark the case template as expired:

  1. On the Case Templates panel, click Edit record next to the case template you wish to remove.

  1. When the Edit: Case Template panel opens, select the Expired check box.

  1. Click Save.
