PREREQUISITES: You must have a notification type set up. See Notification Types for more information.

To enable email notifications, follow these steps:

1. Click System Tools on the PLL Admin menu panel and select Preferences.

2. On the Preferences panel, click the plus icon next to Public Access.

3. Click Notifications.

4. Use the Inspection Schedule, Inspection Cancel, Case Create, and Guest Case Create lookup icons in the Email Notifications section to select notification types for each event.

5. Select the Add to Calendar check box to include an ICS attachment in email notifications so scheduled inspections can be added to a calendar.

6. Click Save.

There are three parts to this task: create the web hook in Designer, configure the notification type, and define the preferences.

PREREQUISITES: For SMS (text message) notifications, a Twilio account must be created before the action template can be configured.

To configure the web hook, follow these steps:

NOTE: You only need to configure a web hook if you are going to use text message notifications. If you are not using text notifications, skip to Step 15.

1. Open Designer from either the home page or the General tab, click Action Manager.
2. Click the Action Templates tab and select Web Hook as the Action.

3. Click Add.
4. Enter a Description and click Create.

5. On the Add Action Template panel, select SMS from the Source drop-down list and enter a brief description in the Description field.
6. Click Create.

Once the template is added, finish creating the template in the Template Details panel.

7. Enter a URL for Twilio in the Url field.
8. Select Post as the Method.
9. Select the Urgent check box. This sends the text message out as soon as the event is triggered within Public Access.
10. Enter the Credential User and Credential Password for your Twilio.
11. Click the Custom tab.
12. Select the Enabled check box.

NOTE: Do not select Epoch Dates because they do not apply to text messages.

13. Enter a custom Template. This should include Twilio's phone number.

14. Click Save.

The second step is to set up a notification type by following the directions in Add a Notification Type.

The final step is to define the notification type for each event. To configure these preferences, follow these steps:

15. Open PLL Admin.
16. On the PLL Admin page, click System Tools on the PLL Admin menu panel and select Preferences.

17. On the Preferences panel, click the plus icon next to Public Access.

18. Select Notifications.

19. Use the Inspection Schedule, Inspection Cancel, and Case Create lookup tools in the SMS Notifications section to select notification types for each event.

20. Click Save.
