Remove a Flag

A flag may need to be removed from the system from time to time. Doing so must be done carefully or could cause errors. This section will discuss how to remove a flag safely.

PREREQUISITES:

  • The Flags security function and its associated sub-functions must be selected for the security role you belong to. See Security Roles for more information.

IMPORTANT: While it is possible to delete a flag, we strongly discourage you from doing so. Deleting a flag will cause errors for any cases that flag has been linked to.

If a flag has not been associated to a case template or workflow, you can delete it by following these steps:

  1. Click Additional Template Items on the PLL Admin menu and select Flags.

  1. On the Flags panel, select the check box next to the flag you wish to delete, then click Delete record at the top of the panel.

NOTE: Search or filter the records on this panel to quickly find the one(s) you want. See Search and Filter Records for more information.

  1. When the message box appears, asking if you want to delete the selected item, click OK.

If the flag has been associated to one or more case templates or workflows, follow these steps to safely remove it:

  1. On the Flags panel, click Edit record next to the flag you wish to remove.

  1. When the Edit: Flags panel opens, select the Expired check box.

  1. Click Save.
