Land Object Type

This section allows administrators to define land objects for the software.

Select Land Object Type from the Land Setup menu to display a list of all the object types currently in the system. From this list, administrators have the option to add a new object type or edit, expire, or delete existing types.

NOTE: It is a best practice never to delete an object type after it has been created; instead, mark it as Expired to avoid corrupting any information that may be tied to that land object type.

Add and Edit Land Object Type

  1. Click Add record at the top right corner of the panel to create a new land object type.
  2. Click Edit record next to the name of an existing object type to view or edit the current information for that type.

  • Land Object Type ID: This is a numeric identifier that is automatically assigned after the object type is saved. This box cannot be edited.
  • Object Type: This is a 10-character identifier created by the administrator. This code appears in lists and drop-down boxes and allows users to distinguish one object type from another. This box cannot be changed once the object type has been saved.
  • Description: This is a brief explanation of the object type. Descriptions are often just a more detailed version of the object type name or code, but administrators may include more exact information if they desire.
  • Custom Table Name: This field identifies any custom tables associated with the land object type. For more information, see Use the Custom Data Builder in the PLL 15.7 Admin Guide.
  • Anonymous: Select this check box to indicate the correction will be available to unregistered Public Access users.
  • Registered: Select this check box to indicate the correction will be available to registered Public Access users after they have logged in to the system.
  • Expired: Select this check box, visible only on the Edit: Land Object Type panel, to mark the land object as expired on the main panel.
  • Screen Flow: This button will display the following boxes, also found on the Land Form Sequence panel. Each control represents a specific panel that can be displayed in the New Land Object sequence. Select a control in the Available Controls box, then select the right arrow to add it to the Selected Controls box. The left arrow will remove controls, and the up and down arrows will move a selected control higher or lower in the list.
