Respond 5.6 Guide Introduction

Cityworks Respond is a GIS-centric Asset Management System (AMS) and permitting solution used to track work orders, service requests, inspections, and cases from start to finish. Work activities can be managed alongside a persistent, resizable map. Queries can be used to populate dashboards with charts, maps, tables, or embedded websites. Respond can be used with the Cityworks platform or Trimble Unity AMS.

Respond is designed to be used in either an office or a mobile setting, with a responsive layout that adjusts according to the size of the device you are using, such as on a computer or a tablet at a job site. It can be used on any device, but to achieve the best user experience, a computer is recommended.

NOTE: See the Product Compatibility Matrix: Platform Feature Comparison document to compare features and functionality between the native apps, Respond, and core versions of Cityworks.

Respond requires a constant network connection and has the ability to maintain continuous, real-time updates, a more advanced map interface with greater functionality, and the option to create and manage aspects of Cityworks from a remote location.

NOTE: All images were taken on a Google Chrome browser using the Light theme, and all steps, fields, and images are based on the latest version of Cityworks. There may be slight differences (i.e., functionality, fields, color branding, etc.) depending on other browsers and themes used and the current version of Cityworks you have installed.

TIP: See Respond Overview for a help video about Respond.
