Search With Barcode Scanner

You can search material by scanning a barcode.

NOTE: There are subtle differences in the user interface between the transaction, requisition, and material search pages, but the functionality is the same.

  1. In the Add Query Field drop-down list, select which fields you wish to search.

NOTE: The icon for Scan Barcode is present in fields that can be used to search by scanning a barcode.

  1. Tap Scan Barcode in the selected field in the Enter Query Criteria section.

  1. Tap Allow to give Cityworks access to the camera.
  2. Scan the barcode with the device's camera by lining it up with the box that says Align with barcode.

The result appears in the field.

The following query fields can be searched by barcode on the Material Query tab: Material Uid, Description, Part Number, Material Sid, Stockroom Stock: Bin Location, and Storeroom Stock: Secondary Bin Location.

The Requisition Items: Material Uid query field can be searched by barcode on requisition queries.

The following query fields can be searched by barcode on transaction queries: Material Uid and Material: Material Uid.
