Configure Printing for Case Templates

Users can print cases in Respond using ActiveReports.

First, an ActiveReport must be uploaded or created in the Report Designer.

  1. To upload an ActiveReport using System Reports, see Add a Report for more information.
  2. To create a report in the Report Designer in Respond, see Create a Report in the Respond 5.1 Guide for more information.

NOTE: For ActiveReports, subreports are treated as seperate reports entirely. The subreports can be edited directly in ActiveReports. They are created and accessed seperately, and then they can be linked to the main report based on common parameters. If you are using the ActiveReports Migration Tool, the subreports would have to be saved as separate reports as well as the main report to convert them over to ActiveReports.

To use ActiveReports to print cases, the PermitId parameter must be set up on the report. For task notifications, the CaTaskId parameter needs to be set up.

  1. Add the PermitId parameter to the report.

Once the parameter is added, it must be associated with the data set.

  1. Edit the data set to add a PermitId parameter.

Here is an example of a simple Query for a case:

The PermitId can be seen as a parameter on the data set below.

NOTE: If your reports are very complex, if may help to have a seperate data set for the report and for the parameters.

  1. Now that the necessary parameter(s) have been set up, the report must be associated to the case template. See Configure Reports on a Case Template for more information.

Now a case may be printed.

  1. To print a report from a case, see Print Reports in the Respond 5.1 Guide for more information.
