Reassign Asset Types
The Reassign Asset Types page lists all the defined asset types and allows the asset types to be changed by remapping them to the geodatabase. This is a global change to the asset definition. When changing the asset type, the following tables are updated:
- PwEntity
- TestType_DCT
- PwFeatDev
- ParChildType
- InspTempEntity
- InspTempAssetField
- WoTemplate
- WoRootTemplate
- AssetIdField

- There isn't a Designer menu item, but in the URL, enter <your domain>/<your site>/Designer/ReassignAssetTypes.aspx to reach this page.
- Select one or more asset types.
TIP: You can use <Shift + click> or <Ctrl + click> to select multiple asset types.
- Click Select Asset Type.
- Select an asset type from the Change To drop-down list.
NOTE: The Change To field is left blank if there is no matching object found in the geodatabase.
- Select an Id Field.
- Click Change Asset Type.
The changes you make are reflected in the Reassign Asset Types panel.
- Click the X to cancel the change.
- Select the Update Work History check box to update historical work activities with the new asset type.
When Update Work History is selected, the following tables are updated:

- AssetPrintField.AssetName (15.5.6 and newer)

- When all the changes have been made, click Apply Changes.
If more than one asset type has been changed to the same asset type, the Asset Merges window is shown for each group of asset types being merged.
- Select a Module, enter a Description, and click Next.
A final confirmation window appears.
- Click Commit to commit the changes.
