Configure Asset Readings
Asset readings are used to generate work orders rather than just relying on the time interval configured on cyclical work orders. There are two types of readings: Threshold and Interval.
Threshold readings are configured for fluctuating values that should fall within a certain range, such as operating pressure. If the reading exceeds the threshold or falls below the threshold, a work order will be generated.
Interval readings are configured for values that constantly increase, such as mileage. For example, every 5,000 miles an oil change will be needed for a vehicle. Once the interval is exceeded, a work order will be generated.
Readings can be obtained for individual assets and linked to work order templates to automatically generate a work order when the defined intervals, milestones, or thresholds are exceeded. For example, vehicle maintenance can be set up if vehicles are defined as features or related objects tied to a shop location or building. Readings may be used for maintenance work or emergency situations, such as when a temperature or pressure reading exceeds a certain threshold. Once configured, users can enter readings from work orders or inspections in the Readings page. Please see Add an Asset Reading for work orders and Add an Asset Reading for inspections in the Office/Tablet 15.5 for AMS Guide for more information.
