OpX 3.3 Guide Introduction

OpX provides a streamlined experience to plan, track, execute, and report on items, such as when municipalities are faced with large strategic and operational programs and emergency response. OpX enables this workflow by combining projects and contracts to:

  • Make better decisions in a shorter time frame.
  • Provide a streamlined view of financial standing between estimated and actual costs, with the ability to associate revenue from permits.
  • Visualize location and associated assets to strategize the project and contract coordination.

Projects are used to group work activities together under a defined event and track the total cost of those activities. In addition, child projects can exist within a parent project, and budgets can be set to monitor actual costs versus budgeted costs.

Contracts are used to track data involved in the management of work contracted out to another entity, including the design, estimated costs, bid process, etc. Users can add and manage various contract details that may be associated with work orders and/or assets.

Budgets provide activity-based budgeting which is reconciled through work order activity. By leveraging the estimated equipment, labor, and/or material, Performance Budgeting develops projected annual and daily budgets which can facilitate the pre-planning budget process in your organization. Organizations can compare their year-to-date (YTD) work activities against the projected budgets developed in Performance Budgeting.

OpX can be used with the Cityworks platform or Trimble Unity AMS.
