Add File Link

Users can enter a URL, UNC, or file path in the Attachments panel. Add File Link is available for service requests, work orders, and inspections.

NOTE: File links are saved as attachments and can be edited, removed, or have added tags like other attachments.

PREREQUISITES:

  • The file must already be on the server.
  • The file location needs to be within the attachments base directory or within an attachment mapped directory, both of which can be configured in Admin. See Attachments in the Admin 3.6 Guide for more information.
  1. Tap Add File Link.

  1. Tap the File/UNC Path tab.
  1. In the Enter a File or UNC Path field, enter the path.
  2. Tap Add Link.

The path is saved as an attachment in the Attachments panel.

  1. Tap Add File Link.

  1. Tap the URL tab.
  1. In the Enter a URL to a file location field, enter the URL.
  2. Tap Add Link.

The URL is saved as an attachment in the Attachments panel.
