Select a Plugin to Customize

Plugins are customizable at a user level. This means that each layout associated with the plugin has controls that can be customized one way for one user and another way for a different user.

PREREQUISITES:

  • You must have a plugin installed before you can customize one. See Install a Plugin in the Admin 3.5 Guide for more information.

  1. Select the plugin from the Plugin drop-down list.

The version of the plugin installed in your site displays in the Plugin Version field.

  1. Select the profile you want to make edits for in the Profile drop-down list. If you want a different profile than the default, you can create a profile. See Profiles for more information.

BEST PRACTICE: It is best to not customize the default profile in case you need to revert back to the original plugin layouts when it was first installed.

  1. Select the page you want to make edits for from the Layout drop-down list.

The Layout drop-down list varies depending on the plugin you are customizing. If you are using Respond 4.0 and newer, some invalid pages may appear in the list when Respond is selected from the drop-down list; this means the page in Respond does not exist.

EXAMPLE

If Respond has been selected as the Plugin, then the Work Order Edit page is available to select from the Layout drop-down list. However, if Storeroom is selected, you'll notice the Work Order Edit page is not available to select from the Layout drop-down list.

NOTE: If you have customized another layout in a different profile, you can import the layout to another profile. See Import a Layout for more information.

  1. Make your changes.
  2. Click Save Profile.

TIP: See Customize a Plugin for a quick start guide on this subject.
