Add a Person

The People panel contains information about people or businesses associated with the case. People or businesses are assigned to different roles depending on what they are responsible for. Some case templates may include default roles set up by the administrator, which are listed in the panel.

If the administrator has configured it, when an asset is added as an address, any people associated to that asset are automatically added to the People panel. If you are an administrator, see Configure GIS Data Fields in the Admin 2.2 Guide for more information.

NOTE: One person may have no roles or several different roles in a single case. For example, the builder of a residential property can also be the applicant, owner, and occupant. In order to accurately depict each role, the individual should be added to the case for each role they represent. If more than one role code is added, only the first role code selected is displayed in the People panel.

  1. Tap Add record.

NOTE: Some case templates may include default roles set up by the administrator, which are listed in the panel. Tap the edit icon to the right of a default role to add a person to the role. See Edit a Person's Information for more information.

The Add Person panel opens.

  1. Begin typing in the Name field to generate a list of names; the more you type, the narrower the list of names becomes. Fields may automatically populate with additional information if it is configured by the administrator

If you have entered information about a person not already saved in the database, select the Add To People check box to save that person's information to the database.

NOTE: If the Add to People check box is selected on the intake page, it's grayed out on the Edit People panel.

  1. Select the role or roles from the Role Code drop-down list which the person should have for the case.
  1. Enter any additional information.

NOTE: City, state, and country values may automatically populate when the zip code is entered if the administrator has configured the zip code in PLL Admin. See Zip Code Setup in the PLL Admin for 15.8 Guide for more information.

  1. Tap Save.

NOTE: If more than one role code is added, only the first role code selected is displayed in the People panel.
