Search Materials

You can search materials on the Material panel by using the Storeroom Material, Work Order Material, Supplier, Requisition, Employee, or Material Search tabs. Materials can then be searched on each tab using the search icon.

NOTE: The Storeroom Material and Material Search tabs appear when you select any transaction on the Storeroom toolbar. The Work Order Material, Supplier, Requisition, and Employee tabs only appear when specific transactions are selected.

Materials can be searched by storeroom material list.

  1. Select the storeroom you'd like to work in from the Storeroom drop-down list.
  2. Select the Storeroom Material tab on the Material panel.

The materials assigned to the selected Storeroom appear in list form.

You can filter the material in the list by tapping Filter records and entering the first few letters or numbers of the material name, bin location, or part number.

  1. Select materials from the list.

The selected materials appear in the View Selected Material drop-down list.

  1. Tap the list to view all the selected materials. Tap to clear the check box next to a material to remove it from the list.

Materials can only be searched by work order on either the Issue or Receive pages.

PREREQUISITES:

  • A work order with attached material must be created before material relating to work orders can appear. See Create an Attached Work Order in the Office and Tablet 15.6 for AMS Guide for more information.
  1. Select the storeroom you'd like to work in from the Storeroom drop-down list.
  2. Select the Work Order Material tab on the Material panel.
  1. Enter the work order ID in the Search by Work Order Id field. If the ID is not known, tap the search icon to search for the work order. See Search for a Work Order for more information.

On the Issue page, the estimated materials associated to the work order in Office appear in the list. On the Receive page, the materials issued to the work order appear in the list.

You can filter the material in the list by tapping Filter records and entering the first few letters or numbers of the material name, bin location, or part number.

  1. Select materials from the list.

Materials can only be searched by supplier on either the Receive or Requisition pages.

PREREQUISITES:
  1. Select the storeroom you'd like to work in from the Storeroom drop-down list.
  2. Select the Supplier tab on the Material panel.
  3. Select a supplier from the Search by Supplier drop-down list to see the materials associated to it. See Add Material to a Supplier for information on how to add material to a supplier.

  1. Select materials from the list.

Materials can only be searched by requisition on the Receive page.

PREREQUISITES:

  • A requisition transaction must be performed before material relating to requisitions can appear. See Create a Requisition for more information.
  1. Select the storeroom you'd like to work in from the Storeroom drop-down list.
  2. Select the Requisition tab on the Material panel.
  3. Enter the Requisition Id in the field. If the ID is not known, tap the search icon to search for a requisition on the Requisition Search page.

You can filter the material in the list by tapping Filter records and entering the first few letters or numbers of the material name, bin location, or part number.

  1. Select materials from the list.

Materials can only be searched for by employee on the Receive page.

PREREQUISITES:

  • An issue transaction must be performed before material relating to requisitions can appear. See Assign Material to an Employee for more information.
  1. Select the storeroom you'd like to work in from the Storeroom drop-down list.
  2. Select the Employee tab on the Material panel.
  3. Select an employee from the Employee drop-down list.

You can filter the material in the list by tapping Filter records and entering the first few letters or numbers of the material name, bin location, or part number.

Materials can be searched for with detailed search criteria. Search parameters can also be used to create saved searches that can be displayed in the inbox in Office. See Save a Search for more information.

  1. Select the storeroom you'd like to work in from the Storeroom drop-down list.
  2. Select the Material Search tab on the Material panel.

  1. Enter information in the Material Search Fields, Storeroom Stock, and Economic Order Quantity panels.

NOTE: You can tap Scan next to the Material UID, Description, Part Number, Bin Location, or 2nd Bin Location fields to scan a specific barcode to search materials by.

Before you tap Search, you can define the results list. See Configure Visible Fields for more information.

  1. Tap Search.

The search results will appear in the Material Search Results panel with the number of results listed on the panel. You can filter the material in the list by tapping Filter records and entering the first few letters or numbers of the material name, bin location, or part number.

You can modify the Material Search Results panel in one of the following ways:

  • Tap Column menu to modify the columns shown, such as if a column is included, or to change the order of the columns. Alternatively, reorder the columns by dragging and dropping them. Any changes made to the column settings are remembered.
  • Tap Rows to adjust the number of rows shown in the panel. The number set in this panel, will persist on all other search results panels.
  1. Select materials from the list.

Materials can be searched using Filter records.

  1. Select the storeroom you'd like to work in from the Storeroom drop-down list.
  2. Select either the Storeroom Material, Work Order Material, Supplier, Requisition, or Employee tab on the Material panel.
  3. Tap Filter records and enter the first few letters or numbers of the material name, bin location, or part number.

Materials can be searched using barcodes and the camera on a device. Barcodes can filter material by the Material UID, Description, Part Number, or Bin Location. Scan Material Uid Bar Code only appears if you're on a device with a camera and on an HTTPS site.

PREREQUISITES:

  • To filter material using a live camera, the site must be HTTPS.
  • Storeroom supports Code 39, Code 39 Full ASCII, Code 93, Code 128, and UPC barcodes.
  1. On the Material panel, tap either the Storeroom Material or the Work Order Material tab.
  2. Tap Scan Material Uid Bar Code.

  1. Tap Allow to give Cityworks access to the camera.
  2. Scan the barcode with the device's camera by lining it up with the box that says Align with valid barcode.

NOTE: iOS devices only allow the Safari browser to access the camera on the device.

The material list is then filtered by the barcode.
